Here, we would like to list all of our general terms and tour conditions to avoid any misunderstanding before you make a decision to do your tour with us in Komodo National Park.

RESERVATION:

Your booking/reservation will be promptly replied if you provide us with the following details; total pax, date of arrival and departure, hotel preference, type of room and other important components for your tour. An early booking is better to help us preparing all components needed during your tour in Komodo and Flores.

COMMUNICATION:

Quotation and confirmation will be sent to you by email or telephone after our program is fixed. We will reply all your email/message within at least 2 x 24 hours.

RATES:

Rates are quoted in both Rupiah and US Dollar. Rates can be changed any time without any prior notice.

PAYMENT:

We request a deposit of 40% for a confirmed reservation 1 month before your arrival and 60% rest of payment will be paid a week before of arrival on Flores Island. We accept Credit Card Payment, Local Bank Transfer, & Cash.

CANCELLATION:

We highly recommended to read these carefully as it’s important before you are going to book and or deal with us. We will charges 25% of the total tour cost up to 21 days prior to your arrival. 14 days prior to your arrival is 50%, 7 days prior to your arrival is 75%. No show on your arrival dates is Non –refundable and or will charge you full payment.

REFUND:

No refund for unused service

RESPONSIBILITY:

We are not responsible to take risk of: any loss, damages or any other personal accident beyond our control. We suggest you to take your own insurance during traveling time.

INSURANCE:

We strongly recommended to all participants to have their own insurances to cover your tour arrangements as well medical, surgical, dental and other additional expenses, baggage’s, loss of money, personal accidents, and personal liability.

Pink Beach

Pink Beach, or Pantai Merah, as it is aptly named, is one of seven pink beaches on the planet, and is just one of the many amazing features of Komodo Island that make it truly a Natural Wonder of Nature. This exceptional beach gets its striking color from microscopic animals called Foraminifera, which produces a red pigment on the coral reefs. For this reason, it is called Red Beach in the local tongue. When the tiny fragments of red coral combine with the white sands, this produces the soft pink color that is visible along the shoreline. Aside from Pink Beach itself, a few small segments along Komodo’s eastern bay also have a pinkish tint.

Located immediately west of Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara, Komodo Island is one of three larger and many islets that make up the Komodo National Park and is particularly well-known as the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon. The Komodo Dragon is the largest living lizard, and takes its name after the island.

Take a moment to appreciate panoramic views of turquoise seas, green rolling hills, blue skies, and fascinatingly pink sands. Aside from the obvious relaxation amidst this picture-perfect scenery, Komodo is not short of interesting activities to partake in. Once you have finished taking in the magnificent surroundings, take a dip in the waters and uncover the marine beauty that Pink Beach has to offer.

The corals of the Pink Beach’s underwater gardens are in excellent condition, with hundreds of species of both soft and hard corals, and thousands of species of fish. Pink Beach is a terrific choice for snorkelers and beginner divers as even the shallow waters are home to an abundance of species to keep you more than entertained.

Of course, there is much more to see the deeper you venture. Relax on the fairytale-like pink sands and work on your tan. Or join in with the various other available water sports such as kayaking or just having a leisurely swim. If photography is your passion, this is definitely a place to try your hand at capturing the stunning natural beauty of the island. And make sure you stick around till sunset, as the view is amazing. A few points to keep in mind is that this is an uninhabited island, and it also is the natural habitat of the Komodo Dragon. If you see the creatures roaming the coast or in the water, be sure to keep a distance. Komodo Dragons are excellent swimmers and are even capable of swimming inter-island. Komodo Dragons are wild animals that could be potentially dangerous to people, so it is not recommended to visit this beach without the help of an experienced guide or range.

Komodo Island

Komodo Island (east of Sumbawa and generally reached by boat from Flores) is the home of the famous Komodo Dragon, the world largest lizard, which can reach lengths of three meters including the tail, and wasn’t even discovered by outsiders until 1912. Tourists used to come to see the dragons fed on a goat in a pit. The pit exists but dragons are no longer fed there. Some visitors skip Komodo altogether and look for dragons on Rinca island because it is easier to get to. Komodo Dragons also live on Rinca, Padar and western Flores. These volcanic islands are inhabited by a population of around 5,700 giant lizards. Komodo Dragons exist nowhere else in the world and are of great interest to scientists, especially for their evolutionary implications.

About 30 kilometers long, Komodo is comprised mostly of grassy hills, steep mountains and dry savannahs. The forests are filled with tamarind and kapok trees. The dry savannah feature Lonar Palms, and stunted Sujube trees. The rugged hillsides of dry savannah and pockets of thorny green vegetation contrast starkly with the brilliant white sandy beaches and the blue waters surging over coral. In 1928, Komodo was named a Wilderness Area, one of the first of its kind in Asia. Komodo National Park encompasses an area of 173,00 hectares, with three fourth of that on land and one fourth in the sea.

Other wildlife found on Komodo include Timor deer, wild pigs, an endemic rat, the orange-footed scrub fowl, the black-naped oriole, a helmeted friarbird, a Wallecean drongo, yellow-crested cockatoos, baseball-glove-size moths, hand-sized spiders (whose venom is a “little poisonous”), and ants that has been compared with “meaty little dumbbells.”

Divers claim that the Komodo waters are one of the best diving sites in the world. The rich coral reefs and mangrove forests of Komodo host a great diversity of species, and the strong currents of the sea attract the presence of sea turtles, whales, dolphins and dugongs. There are 385 species of corals, 70 types of sponges and various types of sharks and stingrays.

Komodo Island definitely has an eery feel to it. The first afternoon we were there, my brother and I went looking for dragons: we didn’t find any, but every time we heard a rustle in the bushes our hearts jumped. There are a lot of deer, wild pig and large birds on the island as well. The town of Komodo has several hundred residents. They live in ramshackle houses set up along dirt roads or by the sea. Women hang squids on lines. Children tend goats and chase crabs. Visitors stay in Loh Liang, a tourist camp run by the Directorate of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (PHKA).
